Emissions are not taken lightly

CO2 emissions should not be taken lightly. They contribute to many of the problems we have around us. Whether health or environmental. Although many businesses in transport-related industries do not see emissions as a threat, or are unwilling to accept their level of responsibility, we are mindful of this and are taking steps on the issue of environmental responsibility that will help reduce the impact of human activity on the environment in the long term.

Our goal is to gradually reduce emissions in accordance with European Union regulations and rules, regardless of the fact that such rules do not currently exist in current Slovak legislation. We want to be a leader not only in technological but also in environmental innovation.

We care about the country in which we live and work. We try to translate our attitude and philosophy to the maximum extent into our business, often at the cost of higher costs.

In 2019, the company's average fleet emissions were 120 g/km of CO2, which is almost 15% lower in the car rental segment and up to 19% lower compared to the fleets of taxi service operators.

The target for 2020 is to achieve an average emission level of 105 g/km CO2 and to reach the prescribed European target of 95 g/km CO2 in 2021.

"We believe that this move to put less emissions burden on the country will be perceived as innovative by customers and our low-emission vehicles will be all the more desirable to customers - and by their very nature, more attractive," says Vladimir Orth, CEO of AVIS.
