How to check the vehicle

At AVIS Van Rental, client satisfaction is our number one priority. That's why we are constantly striving to take our service to the next level. One of the most common questions from clients is how to properly inspect a commercial vehicle so that we don't miss any potential damage to the vehicle.

Our vehicles undergo several thorough inspections before they are rented. Here are some tips on how to inspect these types of vehicles:

Every part on the vehicle must be carefully inspected and passed over with your eyes, but especially the windshield, front and rear lights, front fog lights, rear bumper reflectors, front and rear bumpers, rearview mirrors, and turn signals located in them. Looking for any damage: crack, scratch, missing part, dent. Furthermore, all body panels must be checked. As vehicles of this type are large and white in colour, it is a good idea to approach the vehicle from an angle and observe any unevenness in the individual body panels (see picture).

The higher parts of the vehicle, such as the nose above the windscreen and the roof, should also be kept in mind. These can be safely inspected by stepping back slightly from the vehicle to inspect the entire perimeter of the roof of the vehicle.

Always inspect the interior of the vehicle as well. In the driver's compartment we note any damaged or missing parts of the cab equipment. In the storage compartment, it is very important to check the condition of the floor and the door panels or side walls. Dents or punctures are considered damage to the floor and walls of the vehicle. Damage to the filler is considered to be puncture damage. Reasonable damage to the paintwork, scratches in the storage compartment will be tolerated.

It is important to note whether the vehicle is missing any components such as knuckles, aerial, or mandatory equipment or accident report and if in doubt, contact staff.

The client can photograph or film the vehicle before hiring to record every detail of the vehicle.

Before signing the Acceptance Report, it is necessary to make sure that all damages are correctly noted on it. By signing the Acceptance Protocol, the Client confirms that he/she has taken delivery of the vehicle in a condition corresponding to the Acceptance Protocol.

All our vehicles have legal, accident and theft insurance. The deductible for one insurance claim is 15% / 500€.
